ANSON – The Brownwood Lady Lions softball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 15-0 rout of Anson Friday.

The Lady Lions scored twice in the second inning, four times in the second, three in the third and added six runs in the top of the fourth.

Brownwood’s 14-hit attack was sparked by Mia Lopez with four hits and seven RBIs; Annie-Klein Allgood with two hits and three RBIs; Chloe Walls with three hits and an RBI; Cecilia Rodriguez and Chesley Covey with one hit and one RBI apiece; Hailey Eisenhauser, Mackenzie Welch and Jeniffer Romero with one hit each; and Marian Soto with one RBI.

In the circle, Allgood hurled a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts and no walks in four innings. The Brownwood defense did not commit an error

The Lady Lions are back in action at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday as they welcome Dublin.
