BANGS – The Early Longhorns secured the third seed from District 8-3A for the upcoming UIL Class 3A state basketball playoffs thanks to a 57-14 road win over the rival Bangs Dragons Friday night.

Early (21-10, 9-4) was sparked by 13 points from Jeremy Brown, 12 from Vic Cooper, 10 from Jaxyn Price, five each from Korbin Barr and John Hill, three from Kaleb Hoffman, two points from Andrew Caten, and one point from John-Stewart Gordon.

Bangs slipped to 3-18 on the season and 0-13 in district action.

The playoff-bound Longhorns wrap up the regular season at home against Comanche at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, while the Dragons will close out their campaign at Dublin at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
