The Brownwood Lions slipped into a tie for first place atop the District 6-4A boys basketball standings as the Glen Rose Tigers rallied from 17 points down in a stunning 75-67 decision Friday night at Warren Gym.

The Lions (22-8, 6-1) will now head to Lampasas (23-11, 6-1) for Tuesday’s 6:30 p.m. regular season finale with the District 6-4A championship in the balance.

On Senior Night in Brownwood, the Lions led 23-11 after one quarter, 46-33 at halftime and scored the first four points of the second half. But Glen Rose (21-7, 4-3) closed the third period with 25 of the final 30 points to carry a 58-55 lead into the fourth quarter. The Lions couldn’t shaky their shooting woes in the fourth period and were unable to rally.

Jakob Hataway finished with 21 points for the Lions followed by 16 points each from Luke Moss and Christian Kinzler.

For Glen Rose, Caden Smith scored all 18 of his points in the second half while Dylan Ellis and Tristan Black both chipped in 16.
