EARLY – The Early Longhorns grabbed sole possession of third place in the District 8-3A boys basketball standings with two games left thanks a 59-49 home win over Dublin Tuesday night.

The Longhorns (21-10, 8-4) received 18 points from Vic Cooper against Dublin (12-11, 7-5), along with 16 from Jaxyn Price, 10 from John Hill, five each from Jeremy Brown and Korbin Barr, three points from Dalton Adams, and two points from Andrew Caten.

Early visits Bangs at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

LADY HORNS 44, DUBLIN 38

EARLY – The Early Lady Horns concluded their season Tuesday night with a 44-38 victory over District 8-3A rival Dublin.

Early (12-18, 6-8) led Dublin (3-27, 1-13) by a 13-11 count after one quarter, 21-17 at halftime, and 30-23 through three frames.

Dana Lykes led Early with 18 points trailed by Jordan Simmons with nine, Carrigan Norris with eight, Trinity Torrez and Madison Torrez with four each, and Dakota Barksdale with one point.
