Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Feb. 8

  • On Tuesday, February 1, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Norwood. This was in reference to a trespassing report and investigation.  A trespass warning was later issued to the suspect.
  • On Wednesday, February 2 at approximately 2:12 p.m., Deputy Nicolas A. Wood, was notified of a burglary that was not in progress, which occurred at 140 Spillway Road. An investigation was conducted, and a report was made.
  • On Thursday, February 3 at approximately 4:19 p.m. Deputy Nicolas A. Wood, was notified of a criminal mischief offense, which occurred near the intersection of CR 551. An investigation was conducted, and a report was made.
  • On Friday, February 4, Deputy Chris Angel, was dispatched to CR 467. This was in reference to Criminal Mischief.  A report was taken, and an investigation is underway.
  • On Saturday, February 5, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of a Burglary. Complainant advised she arrived at her lake house and found several items missing. A report was made.
  • On Monday, February 7 at about 1:11 a.m. Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at the Food Plaza located at US 377 S in Brownwood. This was in regards to a domestic disturbance. Langley spoke to a victim who stated his girlfriend had assaulted him during a verbal argument.
  • On Monday, February 7 at around 8:36 a.m., Deputy Carlyle Gover responded to FM 1176. This was in reference to criminal mischief and a missing vehicle from the property. After further investigation a report was made, and the vehicle was entered in as stolen.
  • On Monday, February 7 at around 11:26 a.m., Deputy Carlyle Gover observed a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle, which was reported earlier in the day. A traffic stop was attempted, but the vehicle failed to yield. Deputy Gover pursued the vehicle on US HWY South 183 into Mills County. After a felony stop was conducted, an individual was taken into custody for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, and Possessing a Controlled Substance PG1 under a gram. The vehicle was then returned to the owner.
