Nancy Jean Jones, 80, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Monday, January 31, 2022. A private family burial will be held later this summer.

Nancy was born October 7, 1941 to Ira O and Cloma Ray Whitley in San Saba, Texas. She attended Brownwood High School and married Robert D. Jones in Dallas, Texas in 1962 and they were blessed with two daughters. Nancy took care of the house and really enjoyed working in her garden and canning what it produced. She loved to fix meals for the family and always encouraged company to come over and eat. She would spend time reading biographies and Christian books. She loved to watch a good movie or the Voice on television. She became a cat person and enjoyed taking care of her friends, Tinker, Frindley, Sweetie, Tweety and Sophie. Nancy was a kind, loving, giving person who would to anything to help a person in need. We will miss her dearly.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Martha Sudderth and husband, Jesse of Austin, Barbara Jones of North Little Rock, AR; brother, Kenneth Whitley of Brownwood, Texas; sister Linda NeSmith of Blanket; nephews, Shawn Harris and wife Beverly of Lonoke, AR, Shane Harris and wife Kim of Lonoke, AR, Robert Whitley and wife Shaina of Brownwood; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Jones; her parents; sister-in-law, Judy Whitley; brother-in-law, Tom NeSmith; and nephew, Joshua Whitley.
