Gussie K. “Cotton” Seiler, age 95, of May passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Brownwood.

Funeral Service for Gussie will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Tunnell officiating; burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Gussie was born on May 18, 1926, to Gus and Wilhemina (Bruns) Seiler in Weser, Texas. Gussie proudly served in the United States Navy in World War II; he was the oldest living World War II veteran in Brown County.

Cotton married Ionie “Tiny” Aiken on March 7, 1947, in Harris County. He loved horseback riding, so much so he became a horse back minister. He also enjoyed woodworking. Cotton and Ionie were members of every church they walked into.

Gussie is survived by his wife, Ionie Seiler of May; two daughters, Kay Brown and husband John of May, Sue Moore and husband Rusty of Floresville; son, Blayde Seiler and wife Rosemary of Leming; grandchildren: Johnny Brown and wife Marielenna, Wade Brown and wife Leah, Donnie Spruill and wife Penny, Jessie Brown and wife Juna, Lisa Aldis, R.T. Moore and wife Sarah, Heather Grohman and husband Garrett, Megan Stevens and husband Chris, Hannah Chenault and husband Craig; 37 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Wilhemina; and his 3 siblings.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/inspire.html). Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
