Doyle Smith, Jr.

Burlin Doyle Smith, Jr. age 64, of Lake Brownwood, passed away at home on Monday, January 24th, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.  Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 28th, 2022, at Heartland Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at Eastlawn Memorial Park at 2pm.

Mr. Burlin Doyle Smith, Jr., son of Burlin Doyle Smith, Sr. and Claudia Mae Hoover Smith was born August 18th, 1957 in Brady.  He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1975.  At an early age Doyle professed his faith in Jesus Christ.  He loved to fish, watch sports and sing.

Doyle was married to Vicki Lyn Sarrett in August of 1975 until 1989.  This marriage was blessed with three children.  He then married Patricia “Patti” Ann Vasquez in January of 1993 until 2007.  This marriage was blessed with four children.

Doyle leaves behind his children: John Smith & wife Elena Smith of New Braunfels, Kristi Huxford & husband Brent of Bangs, Chad Smith & wife Amber of Early, Frankie Smith of Littleton, Colorado, Mary Villarreal & Husband Lupe Villarreal of Brownwood, Becky Contreras & husband Wes Contreras of Moore, Oklahoma, & D.J. Rios & wife Chaylie Rios of Bangs, his sisters Treva Matthaei & husband Jack Matthaei of Brownwood, and Sharon Gotcher of Brownwood, 16 grandkids, his dog (Tater) and countless friends who loved him & will miss him greatly.

Doyle was preceded in death by his father Burlin Doyle Smith, Sr., his mother Claudia Mae Hoover Smith, & brother-in-law Billy Gotcher.
