Cora Oleta Pafford

A memorial service for Cora Oleta Pafford, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at the Bangs Church of Christ. There will be a graveside service prior to the memorial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at Oakview Cemetery in Mullin. Visitation with the family will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at the Bangs Church of Christ.

She passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 in Abilene.

She was born Nov. 20, 1935 in Buffalo Gap to William Terrell Tally and Eliza Mae Olney Tally. She married James Eldon “Eddie” Pafford Sr. on May 25, 1952 in Hamilton. She was a member of the Bangs Church of Christ and a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, James Pafford Jr. and Yvonne of Zephyr, Terry Pafford and Ellen of Midland, and Tammy Waldrip and Lonnie of Mullin; grandchildren, Christy Edwards, Justin Waldrip and wife Alorah DeLozier, Andrew Pafford, Shylo Jones, and Steven Jones; great-grandchildren, Weldon Edwards and wife Rebecka Canyon Edwards, Cyn DeLozier, and Leighton Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Terrell Tally and Eliza Mae Olney Tally; her husband, James Eldon “Eddie” Pafford Sr.; and her daughter, Edith Leora Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bangs Church of Christ Camp Fund in Bangs, Texas.
