Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Jan. 12

  • On Tuesday, January 4, Deputy Saydie Bradley received a call in regard to dogs attacking livestock and other animals on the property. A Dog Prohibited From Running At Large form was issued for four dogs, and a report was made.
  • On Thursday, January 6, Deputy Jim Cornelius, was assigned a Call for Service at the Law Enforcement Center. A complainant reported the fraudulent use of a temporary vehicle license plate by unknown person(s) on toll roads in the Austin and Houston area.
  • On Thursday, January 6, at approximately 7:38 p.m., a complainant arrived at the Law Enforcement Center to report a fraud/theft. Deputy Mike Sheedy spoke with the complainant, information was taken, and a report was taken.
  • On Friday, January 7, at approximately 12:10 a.m., Deputy Mike Sheedy spoke with a complainant by phone and in person in the Avenue C. This was regarding a theft/burglary. Information was gathered and a report was completed for Burglary of a Habitation.
  • On Friday, January 7, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to N Hwy 279. This was in reference to a Burglary. A report was made.
  • On Friday, January 7, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was flagged down by a driver at the intersection of Hwy 45 and CR 237. Burke followed the driver to a property just down CR 237. He wanted to report someone had cut the chain from his gate and had entered the property.
  • On Tuesday, January 11, Deputy Toby Mathis, conducted a traffic stop on a Gavin Slavik for driving while license invalid. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and a usable amount of marijuana was located. Items from an unrelated burglary case were located in the vehicle as well. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Tuesday, January 11, Deputy Toby Mathis, spoke with a complainant in regard to stolen property. Information was gathered and a report was made.
