Larry ‘Tom’ Thomas NeSmith

Larry “Tom” Thomas NeSmith, age 71, of Blanket passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at home.

Graveside Service for Tom will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Zephyr Cemetery with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Tom was born on March 19, 1950, to Bill and Wilma (Yearly) NeSmith in Levelland. He moved to Brownwood when he was five and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1968. Tom married Linda Whitley NeSmith on May 5, 1989. They moved to Blanket in 1993.

He retired from 3M after working there for years. After retirement, he went to worked for Docs Drugstore delivering prescriptions. Tom enjoyed going to garage and estate sales. He loved collecting antiques and old vehicles.

Tom is survived by his wife, Linda NeSmith of Blanket; stepsons, Shane Harris and Kim, Shawn Harris and Beverly all of Arkansas; grandchildren, Austin Harris, Dalton Harris, Jordyn Harris, and Joshua Harris; great-grandson, August Tittle; mother, Wilma Friedman; 2 brothers, Billy NeSmith and Daniel NeSmith; and 1 sister, Jan Wade. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill NeSmith; and stepfather, Dan Friedman.
