EULA – The Early Longhorns captured the consolation championship at the Eula Holiday Classic Wednesday, defeating Lingleville, 59-55, followed by a 40-29 triumph over Colorado City.

In the victory over Colorado City, all-tournament team selection Vic Cooper paced Early with 14 points followed by Jeremy Brown with nine, John-Stewart Gordon with eight, John Hill with four, Jaxyn Price and Dalton Adams with two each, and Korbin Barr with one point.

Versus Lingleville, Cooper poured in 24 points trailed by 11 from Hill, six from Gordon, five each from Brown, Hall and Price, and three points from Andrew Caten.

The Longhorns (14-6, 1-0) are back in action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday as they host No. 3 Brock in District 8-3A action.
