David Troy Karthauser

David Troy Karthauser, age 90, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life to the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:20 am at the Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville, Texas.
Services will be Friday at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church with Rev. David McLean officiating.  Interment will follow at the Santa Anna Cemetery with services under the care of Henderson Funeral Home Staff.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 till 7:30 pm at Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
David was born October 27, 1931 in Avalon, Pennsylvania to Henry Valentine and Mildred Ellen Troy Karthauser.  He was raised in Avalon graduating from Avalon High School in 1949.  David received his BSA from Trinity University in 1954 and in 1960 he received a MA from TCU.  On April 4, 1953 David married Margaret Louise McCaughan and they celebrated 52 years of marriage.  Margaret preceded him in death in 2005.   David married Ruth Peacock on June 25, 2011 in Kerrville, Texas.  He was a resident of Arlington for 30 years before moving to Santa Anna.
David served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  David was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church and Gideons.  He was past president of Buffalo Gap Pres Inc. and ACM, also DPMA Share Chairman and served 55 years with Boy Scouts of America.  Davis retired in 1996 following 30 years with IBM Corporation, he then worked with Troy Computing Services.
Survivors include Wife – Ruth Maples of Kerrville, Texas; 2 Sons – David S. Karthauser of Santa Anna, Texas, James P Karthauser of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 2 – Daughters – Melissa Johnston of Longview, Texas, Martha and husband David Llewellyn of Trophy Club, Texas; Sister – Mary Ardeth Tonti of Baden, PN; 10 Grandchildren;  7 Great Grandchildren; and Several Nieces and Nephews
David was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Jean Steiner and Ola Ann Salley; Brother Wayne Karthauser; and Granddaughter Rebekah Elizabeth Karthauser.
