23 new laws go into effect in Texas on Jan. 1

A total of 23 new bills will become Texas law on Jan. 1, 2022, all of which were passed during the regular session of the 87th Legislature. The majority of the laws revolve around tax requirements or tax-exemption statuses, but the complete list as is follows:
