Merry Christmas

“For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 6:9
This weekend, we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope you have the opportunity to cherish time with your loved ones, and reflect on all of the wonderful blessings we have been given by God in our communities.
Camille and I are thankful for the blessing of a merciful savior, a wonderful and supportive family, and the opportunity to serve each and every individual, family, business, and organization in the 11th District of Texas.

In the Community

This week, I stopped by the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Toys for Tots, a wonderful program that benefits children throughout the Permian Basin. This year, over 2,000 children will receive toys because of their efforts.
Thank you to the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Miss Cayce’s for hosting, and all the wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help out!

Midland Soup Kitchen

Another amazing organization within our community is the Midland Soup Kitchen, which not only provides for our community through hot meals, but also spreads love and cheer through efforts like their Toy Drive.
I was grateful to serve a hot meal alongside the Midland Soup Kitchen this Christmas season and to share in their mission statement following John 21:17.
Learn more about their mission here!

Keeping our Community Safe

This week, I Had an opportunity to talk to Sheriff Chris Pounds in Comanche. In partnership with DHS, he recently led an effort to bring down a human smuggling operation located inside Comanche. Over 1000 people were found to have been smuggled during this 2-year-long investigation. This operation would not have successfully led to arrests without help from the Comanche County Sheriff’s office!
Thank you to all the brave law enforcement officers who serve our community with honor and who continually protect us. We are so grateful for your selflessness and dedication to keeping our community safe!

A Night to Celebrate with NAACP

Camille and I had the privilege to spend an evening at the San Angelo NAACP Gala. The local chapter has been serving San Angelo since 1946. Congratulations on 75 years of great service to our community!
Thank you to Chapter President Sherley Spears for her leadership of the organization and for inviting us to join such a special event full of history!

Brownwood Town Hall

On Monday, I had the honor to hear from the Brownwood community at my final Town Hall of the year. The 26 in-person Town Halls and 6 Telephone Town Halls that I hosted in 2021 afforded me the opportunity to meet and visit with many of you across #TX11.
We have discussed our frustrations, solutions, and incredible success stories. I would like to say thank you to every person who came to a Town Hall this year to engage in conversations.
I am already looking forward to seeing you again in the New Year!
In case you missed this week’s Town Hall, I want to remind you that my offices and staff are always available to help you. Whether you’re looking to share your thoughts, receive feedback over concerns, or need help with a federal, please reach out to my office!
