One COVID death, 43 positive results reported this week

In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 43 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 43 positives this week, 21 were PCR, and 22 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 8 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.  There are 2 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.  One new death has been reported this week, a male in his 70’s.   

If you think you have COVID-19 and need a test, contact your personal health care provider or the Brownwood Brown/County Health Department at 325-430-7603 to schedule a test.  

The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department will be moving COVID-19 Testing back to the Brownwood-Brown County health Department.  Testing will continue through Monday, December 20th at the current location at 2401 Crocket Drive; then it will reopen on Tuesday, December 21st at 510 East Lee Street, the Health Department.  To make an appointment for a COVID-19 test call 325-430-7603  or 325-646-0554.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

  • People with at least one dose – 16,578 
  • People fully vaccinated –  14,861
  • Boosters administered – 3,480
  • Percentage of people 5+ fully vaccinated – 41.16%

The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccinations are available by appointment at the Health Department. Please call 325-646-0554 to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
