Cathrine Ann Smith, age 66 of Brownwood passed away Monday, December 13, 2021.

The family will host a memorial service at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Cathy was born to Vernon and Elizabeth Smith in Corpus Christi on November 28, 1955. She attended the University of Mary- Hardin Baylor. Instead of pursuing the career she was trained for, Cathy was called to be a companion ad caregiver to her grandmother Polly, and her mother Elizabeth. Cathy was an active member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Brownwood.

Over the years, she loved to collect bells and crosses. She also loved working on jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and most especially visiting with her friends. Cathy was the sweetest, most gentle person any of us could have hoped to know. She was generous with her time, patient, loving, and would help anywhere she could. We were all inspired by her loving generosity and quiet acceptance of Gods plan for her life. While she loved her blood family, and her family at Market Place, her God and her church were her sanctuary and her rock.

Cathy is survived by her siblings, Vernon Smith Jr., Vickie Smith Campos, and Amy Fowler Campos; her niece, Cayte Schoeder; and nephew, Tony Garza.

In accordance with Cathy’s wishes, her remains will be spread over her niece, Cayte’s property where her friends and family will be provided the opportunity to say their final goodbyes.
