James Jones, age 65, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Graveside Services for James will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Trickham Cemetery with Bill Slaymaker officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

James was born on June 5, 1956, to Howard and Lucile (Bingham) Jones at Brownwood Memorial Hospital. He attended and graduated from Brownwood. After graduating high school, he began working in the oil field in Victoria. He then found his love for woodworking while working with the Pritchard’s and his buddy, Pete Jones. James eventually went to work for Lone Star Gas which turned into Oncor and Atmos Energy and retired with them after 27 years. He made some really amazing friends along the way. James always gave 110% in everything he did, whether it work or with his family.

James had a love for music and going to see his favorite bands in concert. He was devoted family man, loved and supported his family, and enjoyed time spent together.

James is survived by his wife, Jyl Jones of Brownwood; 4 children, Jennifer Jones, Jared Jones and Suzanna Salazar, Meghann Sharp, and Hannah Arrington and husband Conner all of Brownwood; 4 grandchildren, Myla Manzano, Jensyn & Jemma Jones, and Eleanor Arrington; 2 sisters, Mary Kemp of Brownwood, and Imogene Stakes and husband Carlyle of Cuero; and brother, Richard Jones and wife Angela of Brownwood. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lucile Jones; 1 brother, Sonny Jones; and 1 sister, Ruby Lee Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
