Irvin Douglas Streckert

Irvin Douglas Streckert, age 70, of Brownwood, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from a sudden illness.

He was born July 5, 1951, in Paris, Texas, the son of William G. and Elanor (Leatherman) Streckert. He graduated from high school and later graduated from Trinity College in San Antonio with a Master’s degree in administration. He worked in hospital administration for many years, was a member of the Brownwood Rotary Club, the First United Methodist Church, and the Masonic Lodge. He was a long-time contributor of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

He is survived by his two sons, Ben Streckert of Austin, Jacob Streckert of Comanche, four daughters, Kori Salazar and husband James of San Antonio, Kati Burke of Brownwood, Jill Mason and husband Derek of Austin, and Jenny Wiley and husband Troy of Austin. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive as well as a sister, Cindy Stone, and husband Rick of Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Streckert.

Graveside services will be held at the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 27, with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home/Davis-Morris Chapel in Brownwood.
