
Blanket (9-2) got off to a slow start against Cherokee (7-3) and was then plagued by a rash of injuries throughout the remainder of the contest.
Levi Vazquez rushed for 105 yards and Blanket’s only touchdown, while Carlos Morales was limited to 32 yards and Brayden Day to 10. Mark Yeats caught two passes for 22 yards.
Defensively, Vazquez tallied a team-high seven tackles and recovered a fumble, Yeats chipped in five tackles, and Day and Morales contributed three tackles apiece.
Cherokee advances to face District 13 champion Oakwood (7-3) a 65-0 winner over Mount Calm Thursday night – in next week’s Region IV semifinal tilt.
