JV Lions complete perfect season with 42-26 triumph over Stephenville

The Brownwood JV Lions completed an undefeated season Thursday night at Gordon Wood Stadium with a 42-26 victory over Stephenville to capture the District 5-4A Division I championship.

The Lions (10-0), who outscored their opponents 408-39 on the season and recorded seven shutouts, were led in the finale by quarterback Ike Hall and tailback Logan McKibben.

Hall threw for three touchdowns and rushed for an 81-yard score on the first play of the game. McKibben added two rushing touchdowns and one through the air. Jake Jetton scored on a 61-yard screen pass to ice the victory, and Hayden Noe pulled down a team-high five receptions and scored once.

Defensively, the front seven gave up minimal yardage on the ground to the Jackets. Linebackers Jetton, Sam Kallman, Chris Robinson, Stevie Ramirez, and Hayden Deen turned in stellar efforts for the Lions.
