Brown County Sheriff’s Report – Nov. 5

  • On Monday, November 1, Deputy Mike Sheedy spoke with a complainant by phone and took a report regarding Harassment and Unlawful Disclosure or Promotion of Intimate Visual Material  The offense began around October 24, 2021, and continues through this date.  The suspect is a known former family member.
  • On Tuesday, November 2 at around 7:02 p.m., Deputy Carlyle Gover arrived at 406 East Spencer in Bangs. This was in reference to a damaged voting machine caused by a voter. After further investigation, a report was made.
  • On Tuesday, November 2, Deputy Toby Mathis, initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with no headlights on. The passenger was placed in custody for an active warrant. After a consent search of the vehicle the driver was placed in custody for Possession of Marijuana and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The passenger was further charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
  • On Wednesday, November 3 at about 9:08 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley arrived at the Brownwood Law Enforcement Center located at 1050 W Commerce in Brownwood. This was in regard to theft. Langley spoke to Cecil a complainant, who stated he has Power of Attorney over his mother, (victim). The complainant stated two suspects have somehow got access to one of the victim’s check books and have written and cashed checks to themselves from the victim.
  • On Wednesday, November 3, approximately 10:35 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to 209 Spur 586 in Bangs. This was in reference to a street sign that had been struck and damage to some other property.
  • On Wednesday, November 3, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to VRC Technologies. This was in reference to a criminal trespass warning being issued to an ex-employee.
  • On Wednesday, November 3, Deputy Chris Angel was dispatched to 125 Boyett Drive. This was in reference to Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Angel made contact with the victim, who stated his vehicle was stolen from Big G’s Grocery located at North 279. An investigation is underway.
  • On Thursday, November 4 at approximately 2:52 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to N. Hwy 279. This was in reference to an animal cruelty report and investigation.
