Marvin Allan McDonald, age 75, of Brownwood, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
The family will host a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. Family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the Gouldbusk Cemetery Pavilion. Interment will follow with military honors in the Gouldbusk Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. A funeral procession will leave Stevens Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday going to the Gouldbusk Cemetery.
Marvin Allan “Al” McDonald was born July 11, 1946, in Seminole, Texas to Marvin Lee McDonald and Geraldine Allen McDonald. He grew up in Greenville, Texas where he graduated from Greenville High School. Al then attended East Commerce College and Eastern New Mexico University. Al proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Billie Jeanette “BJ” Davis on November 8, 1975, in Odessa, Texas. Al and BJ lived in the Midland/Odessa area where he worked in oilfield sales. During this time Al was a member of the Odessa Chuckwagon Gang and CASI. He moved to Brownwood from Midland in 2009.
Al enjoyed golfing, fishing, and living the lake life. His most cherished times were spent with family. He was a proud Veteran and would fly his American Flag daily. He will be missed.
Preceding Al in death are his parents, Marvin and Geraldine McDonald.
He is survived by his wife, Billie “BJ” McDonald of Brownwood; four sons, James Ayers and wife Angela of Brownwood, Joey Byford and wife Donna of Webb City, Missouri, Todd McDonald and wife Michelle of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Shawn Byford of Bandera; his grandchildren, Ashley Snow, Tristan Ayers, Slade Byford, Courtney Byford, Jayson Standifer, Jag McDonald, and Saint Byford; his great-grandchildren, Gracie Snow, Emma Snow, and Kayden Standifer; and his sister, Jeri Wendling and husband Jim of League City.
