Jerry C. Pittman

Jerry C. Pittman, age 81, of Owens passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at a local nursing facility.

Graveside Services for Jerry will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Jerry was born on January 13, 1940, to R.V. and Alene (Shafer) Pittman in Owens. He married the love of his life, Roseanne Groce Pittman, on July 8, 1960, in Brownwood. He retired from West Texas Printing, then went to work for 3M and eventually retired from there.

Jerry was a very active supporter in the Brown County Youth Fair Association for 35 years. Throughout his life of coaching little leagues and volunteering with the youth fair, Jerry impacted the lives many people. He also served on the Zephyr Water Board, Comanche County COOP, and May Rodeo Board.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Pittman and fiancé David Brawley of Comanche; 2 grandsons, Derrick Stephenson and wife Melissa of Paradise, TX, Cooper Stephenson and wife Mandi of Ennis; bonus grandchildren, Dakota and Weston Chambers; 7 great-grandchildren, Chayden, Cutter, Karsten, Dylan, Rylan, Gunnar, and Sailer Rose; and 3 brothers, Wayne Pittman of May; Randy Pittman and wife Meichele of Blanket, and Rick Pittman of Owens. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Roseanne Pittman; son, Dusty Pittman; 2 daughters, Jerryanne Pittman and Sheryl Pittman; parents, R.V. and Alene Pittman; mother and father-in-law; and sister-in-law, Lomah Pittman.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations can be made to the Brown County Fair (P.O. Box 1101, Brownwood, Texas 76804-1101) in his memory. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
