Lloyd “Cotton” Eugene Pearson Sr., age 70, of Brownwood passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Graveside Services with Military Honors for Lloyd will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Jordan Springs Cemetery with Terry Garrett officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Lloyd, lovingly known to family and friends as “Cotton”, was born July 1, 1951, to Henry and Olivia (Hanusch) Pearson in Temple. After attending high school, Cotton enlisted in the US Army. He served his country during Vietnam as a 63C20 Track Vehicle Mechanic and earned the National Defense Service, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars.

After serving in Vietnam, Cotton returned home and began a 36-year career with BNSF. Cotton retired in the summer of 2012 to the enjoyment of fishing, watching his westerns and playing dominoes. Above all this, his greatest passion was spending time with loved ones and telling stories of the good ol’ days back when he was in the service or working for the railroad.

Cotton is survived by his wife, Charlotte Pearson of Brownwood; daughter, Connie Smith and husband Kevin of Brownwood; sons, Moses Woods of Colorado Springs, CO and Danny Woods and partner Julie of Brownwood; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family of Mr. Pearson would like to extend a personal thank you to Dr. Roy Byrd of Brownwood, as well as the ICU team at Hendricks Medical Center Brownwood for their compassion, dedication, and professionalism. They made a difficult time for our family a little more bearable.

Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
