DeAnna Blanchard, age 49, of Brownwood passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Austin following a stroke.

Services for DeAnna will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Crenshaw officiating; private interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

DeAnna was born on August 21, 1972, to Gerald Crowder and Deborha Reynolds in Brownwood. DeAnna was a 1991 graduate of Brownwood High School, she loved her Brownwood Lions.

DeAnna suffered a traumatic brain injury at the early age of six months old therefore she was in a handicapped body her entire life. She showed to be a true fighter. She was never supposed to walk or talk; she proved them all wrong, really quick. But that didn’t stop DeAnna from living life to the fullest always texting, smiling, and shopping, oh how she loved to shop. If there was a unicorn within her reach it was for sure going home with her. She was always helping when she could, even though she was the one who could’ve used the help. She was everyone’s favorite cousin. Always fun, sneaking little trinkets off her shelves for any of her cousin’s children when they stopped by every chance she got. DeAnna never had any children of her own though she always wanted them. She was determined to spoil any child she could.

We are going to miss getting random pictures of DeAnna dying her hair late at night, different colors especially when she went out of the norm and tried hot pink and loved it. We are truly sad we will no longer get those text messages. We know she is so happy now that she is able to run, jump, and walk straight for the first time ever. Most importantly, she is now reunited with her mother and brother whom she has deeply, deeply missed for years. We, her family, are jealous of that reunion, it brings us happy tears as well.

Left on earth missing her terribly, is her fiancé, Frank Brummett; her aunts, Janice, Pam, Joyce; uncles Roy, Ronnie, Charles, Stephen; cousins, Kayla Armendarez and fiancé Dewey Grider, Tara Newton and husband Bo, Sidra Edmonds, Judson and Kaylee Woodley, Jennifer Ramsey; and many great-cousins, as well as a special great-great-cousin, Adalynn.

Deanna is preceded in death by her mother, Deborha; brother, Bradford Wayne Blanchard; grandparents, Leroy and Florene Reynolds, and 2 uncles, Darrel and Dale.

The family would like to sincerely thank DeAnna’s staff at Center for Life Resources, Lacey Lawrence, Tonya Taylor, and Werdna Wells for all the extra things y’all did for her. She loved y’all dearly.

Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
