A ribbon cutting and blessing of the building took place Thursday afternoon at Hendrick Outpatient Rehabilitation at 101 Streckert Drive in Brownwood.

Called one of the many remodels, facelifts and new building projects for Hendrick Medical Center of Brownwood, administrator Krista Baty said the remodeled facility is in alignment with the Hendrick mission which is “to deliver high quality healthcare emphasizing excellence and compassion consistent with the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”

J.D. Newman, Chaplain Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood, offered a prayer and Blessing of the Clinic.  Also in attendance were Erich Wallschlaeger, CFO and Brett Emmett, COO.

Prior to the ribbon cutting, Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes offered his congratulations.

“Anytime you see companies that are reinvesting and improving their facilities, that means they see a bright future in this place and that is a great reflection on our community.  Of course it is about the patients.  We want this to be a wonderful facility for the patients, but it’s also about the employees.  Companies that are reinvesting their dollars are also reinvesting in people and those are local people, they’re our neighbors and our friends,” Haynes said.

“Being a part of the Brownwood community for almost a year now has given me great excitement to witness many changes.  I am looking forward to the future of other things to come while providing the most important thing – advancements in healthcare and quality care to our community.  We will stay focused on building healthy communities in rural areas and access to care locally should always be at the forefront,” Baty said.

Ann Glasscock, Director of Hendrick Outpatient Rehabilitation, introduced the staff which has a combined 250 years of experience caring for patients needing therapy.

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce was on hand to do the ribbon cutting in front of the building.

October is National Physical Therapy Month.
