David Joe Boatright

David Joe Boatright passed away at his home in Carlsbad, New Mexico on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. 

The family will host a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. Family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2021, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

David was born June 18, 1956, in San Bernardino, California.  He served four years in the Army followed by a career in the oilfield where he worked his way from the ground, up to higher level positions.  He enjoyed the outdoors, being thrifty and creative, and working with his hands.   

David is survived by his daughter Silena Townsend of Imperial, Texas, son Eli Boatright, daughter LaDonna Broadrick and son Hardy Boatright, all of Odessa, Texas; mother, Donnie Boatright, and sister Debra Greer, both of Carlsbad, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.   

He was preceded in death by his father Delbert A. Boatright, sisters, Susan Lee Boatright and Kay Lynn Burfield, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
