Jamie Paul Shannon and Carmen L. Shannon

Jamie Paul Shannon, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, in Abilene and Carmen L. Shannon, age 76, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, in Stephenville.

Private Services for Jamie and Carmen Shannon will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Jamie Paul Shannon was born on September 30, 1939, to James Burl Shannon and Elsie June (Arthur) Shannon in Brown County. Jamie Paul was a teacher for Brownwood ISD for 28 years.

Carmen Lynette Shannon was born on July 21, 1945, to Samuel and Marjory (Finlay) Medland in Cameron County, Texas. Carmen was a Register Nurse for Dr. Harry Thomas for a few years. After working for Dr. Thomas, she was a school nurse for 20 plus years for Brownwood ISD.

Jamie and Carmen are survived by their children, Art Shannon and wife Kathy of Brownwood, Paige Hodges of Lipan, and Vale Shannon of Austin; Grandchildren: Sean Shannon, Kelcy Tharp, Patrick Shannon, Casey Shannon, Skylar Smoot, Sunny Vale Smoot, Stayde Long, Lincon Hodges, Tiger Camarillo, Ashley Ford, and Stori Stephen; and several loving great-grandchildren. They are also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and their friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and June Shannon; and sisters, Charlotte Roper, and Sharon Buckman.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Marjory Medland; and brother, Kent Medland.
