Oliver Joe ‘Ollie’ Hair

Oliver Joe “Ollie” Hair, age 78, of Brownwood passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 25, 2021.

A Celebration of Life for Ollie will be held Friday, October 1, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Ollie was born on August 8, 1943, to Joe and Helen (Kirk) Hair in Brownwood, Texas. After serving in the United States Army and Army National Guard, he finished and graduated college with a bachelor’s in law enforcement. He worked for Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. as a Parks Superintendent, helping to design and implement the Mineral Wells State Park in Mineral Wells. He retired from TPWD after many years. After his retirement from TPWD, he worked as a Juvenile Correctional Officer in transportation for 23 years.

Ollie married Donna Day on April 16, 1981, in Coleman; he had 3 children: Trent, Michael, and Michele. Ollie absolutely loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing were his passion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Ollie is survived by his 3 children, Michael Hair of Brownwood, Michele Shannon of Houston, and Trent Hair of Brownwood; 2 grandchildren, Lucas Shannon and Devin Winters; 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Serenity, and Andre Winters; and his first wife, Anne Ross of Houston. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hair; parents, Joe and Helen Hair; and brother, Jimmy Hair.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Corrine T. Smith Animal Center (3016 Milam Dr. Brownwood, Texas 76801) in his memory. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
