Joe Berryman

Joe Berryman, age 78, of Brownwood passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.

Celebration of Life for Joe will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Grosvenor Baptist Church with Don Fawcett and David Barnum officiating; private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Joe was born on June 17, 1943, to Bill and Emily (Box) Berryman in Littlefield, Texas. He graduated in 1961 from Salida High School in Salida, Colorado. He married, Jackie Aaron Berryman on November 7, 1990, in Durango, CO.

Joe was a self-employed contractor for many years. Joe and Jackie managed Flat Rock Park at Lake Brownwood for 20 years. He was a member of Grosvenor Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved being outdoors. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather affectionately known as Papa Joe.

Joe is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jackie Berryman of Brownwood; children, Gina Matthews of Corpus Christi, Tami Thomas and husband Ricky of Lubbock, Kerry Peevy and husband Darrell of Brownwood, Keith Musick and wife Laticia of Gonzales; grandchildren: Josh Cox, Jaeden Matthews, Taylor Bossio, Trevor Hulse, Shelby Hinton, Erica Hulse, Timothy Peevy, Zackery Peevy, Shelby Musick, Kelsey Musick, Madison Musick, Justice Musick, Baylen Horton, and Cameron Horton; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Winston Berryman and wife Nancy of Lubbock; sister, Pansy Wages of Brownwood; and 5 nephews. He is also survived by several other relatives and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Emily Berryman; and his mother and father-in-law.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Grosvenor Baptist Church or to the Cal Farley Boys Ranch in Amarillo. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
