GRAHAM – Missing the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 girls from the singles lineup, the Brownwood High tennis team came up short against Graham in a 12-7 decision Saturday.

Brownwood picked up just two wins in doubles action – the No. 1 boys team of Dillon Gatlin and Nathan Ramos (6-4, 7-6 over Joshua Gipson and John Upton) and the mixed doubles team of Peter Le and Victoria Ramos (6-0, 6-0 over Nathan Rice and Holly Whitaker).

In singles action, victories were tallied by No. 1 Ramos on the girls side (6-1, 6-1 over Rebekah McCord), and No. 1 Le (7-6, 7-5 over Gipson), No. 2 Gatlin (6-3, 7-6 over Upton), No. 3 Ramos (7-6, 6-4 over Luke Qualls) and No. 5 Taylor Wallace (6-4, 6-1 over Dustin Robinson) in the boys draw.

The next match for the Lions and Lady Lions (7-3, 1-0) is slated for Sept. 23 at District 6-4A rival Gatesville.
