David L. Bancroft, age 68, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.

Graveside Services with Military Honors for David will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Jordan Springs Cemetery with Chaplain Bobby Machen officiating. There is no set visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

David was born to David Charles and Twila Virginia (Carpenter) Bancroft on April 17, 1953, in Riverton, Wyoming. He served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974. After the Army, he started working in the oil field in Wyoming for many years.

David married Ann Johnson on April 16, 1993, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He attended church at Heart of Texas Cowboy Church.

David is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ann Bancroft of Brownwood; stepsons, Cliff Brown and wife Robin of Colorado, Michael Brown and wife Carrie of Oklahoma, Bryan Brown and wife Susie of Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert Bancroft of Wyoming, and Tom Bancroft of Wyoming; loving sister and brother-in-law; and his favorite fur baby, Brandy.

He was preceded in death of parents, David Charles and Twila Bancroft.
