As of Tuesday, September 7th, the Brownwood-Brown County Health Department has received an additional 144 new positive COVID-19 test results since Friday, September 3rd. Due to the holiday weekend, staff is still processing new cases. There are currently 21 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.
Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood is operating a screening clinic with no cost testing. Individuals should text “covidhelp” to 325-216-4824 to utilize this service.
The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department will be hosting a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th, at the Adams Street Community Center located at 511 E. Adams Street, next door to the Brownwood Public Library. Walk-ins are welcome, no appointment needed.
COVID-19 vaccinations are also available at no cost at the Health Department at 510 E. Lee Street Monday-Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4:45 p.m.
