Janet Richardson, age 77, of Coleman, died Monday, September 6, 2021, in Abilene.  There will be a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  The service will start at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bob Martin, minister of Elm Street Church of Christ, officiating.  Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, in Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.  Services have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

She was born Janet Boyd on March 29, 1944, in Paintsville, Kentucky, a daughter of Cleveland Boyd and Ruby Delong Boyd.  Since her father was a coal miner, the family moved frequently although most of the time she attended school in Cleveland, Ohio.  She was married to Phares Graham Richardson in Dallas, and he preceded her in Death in 2002.  Janet moved to Doole from Dallas in 2002 and then to Coleman in 2003.  She worked as a bookkeeper.  She loved to travel with her two sisters, and they especially enjoyed taking cruises.  She was a faithful volunteer for her church and loved her church family at Elm Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her two sisters, Charlotte Ward of Thelma, Kentucky and Carol Davis of Coleman; one niece, Kimberly Humphrey and one nephew, Russell Wood.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Please leave kind thoughts and condolences for the family at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Richardson family.
