Danny Whorton, age 61, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at home with his family.

Celebration of Life for Danny will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel; private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Danny was born April 8, 1960, to Lewis Sr. and Katy (Day) Whorton in Brownwood. He was a member of the Gypsy Motor Club.

Danny loved playing bingo at the Grand Starz, gaining him the nickname “Dobber”. He also liked sitting outside enjoying the day and fishing.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Whorton of Brownwood; son, Jeremy Whorton of Granbury; 3 grandchildren, Emily Perry, Haley Northcutt, and Khloe Whorton; 3 sisters, Rosanna Sheller of Early, JoElla White and husband Jackie of Brownwood, Betty Hall and husband Mark of Cherokee; and his best four-legged friend, Shorty. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Sr. and Katy Whorton; and his brother, Lewis D. Whorton Jr.
