Brown County Sheriff’s Report – Aug. 23

  • On Tuesday, August 17 at about 9:44 a.m. Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at Neal Dr. in Brownwood. This was in regards to an animal bite. Langley spoke with a victim who stated his neighbor’s dog attacked his dog.
  • On Friday, August 20 at approximately 10:20 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to North Highway 279. This was in reference to a burglary of a building report and investigation.
  • On Friday, August 20 at around 7:21 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover arrived at the Sweeten Home at CR 135. This was in reference to staff members being assaulted by a resident. After further investigation the resident was arrested for 4 counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
  • On Friday, August 20 Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of Trespassing. The complainant requested a trespass warning be issued. The suspect was located, and the warning served. A report was made.
  • On Friday, August 20 Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of a Burglary. The complainant advised his vehicle had been broken into and items inside disturbed. A suspect was named, and a report was made.
  • On Saturday, August 21 at about 10:52 a.m. Deputy Byron Langley, spoke with a victim by phone. This was in regards to an accident. The victim stated her vehicle was hit while parked in the United Supermarket parking lot located at E Commerce in Brownwood.
  • On Saturday, August 21 Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of Criminal Trespass. The complainant stated she received a phone call from a neighbor, advising an individual was observed on her property who had been served a Criminal Trespass Warning for the property. A report was made.
  • On Saturday, August 21 at around 9:01 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover was en route to 3700 CR 234. This was in reference to subjects having guns drawn on a resident. While responding to the residence, dispatch advised one individual from the scene left in a dark colored Buick Sedan on CR 234. After intercepting the vehicle, a felony stop was initiated; however, the suspect ran on foot to evade law enforcement. A search of the area was conducted, but the suspect was not located. A report was made.
  • On Sunday, August 22 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to CR 325, Blanket. This was in reference to an illegal dumping report and investigation.
  • On Sunday, August 22 Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of Violation of Protective Order. Thomas made contact with the complainant by phone. They stated he and another individual had observed a subject at the Victory Life Church, who was prohibited from being on the property. After further investigation, a report was made.
  • On Sunday, August 22 Sgt. Taylor Fletcher took a report of a stolen generator on Fitzgerald in Bangs.
  • On Sunday, August 22 at around 9:24 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover contacted a complainant by phone. This was in regards to a family friend threatening to burn his residence down, while the complainant was in it. A report was made.
