Benny Guerrero, Sr.

Benny Guerrero, Sr., age 65, of Coleman, died Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Coleman County Medical Center.

The family will host a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Benny was born October 5, 1955, in Santa Anna, Texas to Joe Guerrero and Yolanda Montalvo Guerrero. He grew up in Santa Anna where he attended school. Benny married Olga Guerrero on June 22, 1974. He then started a career working with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad retiring after 33 years of service. Benny was very proud of his career and his accomplishments that he made. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, collecting arrowheads, and hosting his family for BBQ’s. Benny loved his wife and his family. He enjoyed dancing with Olga to their favorite music. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Benny will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Yolanda Guerrero.

Benny is survived by his wife, Olga Guerrero of Coleman; his children, Benny Guerrero of San Angelo, Chris Guerrero and wife Crystal of Coleman, and Priscilla Cervantes and husband Estaban of Coleman; his grandchildren, Jorge Jimenez, Estaban Cervantes, Jr., and Eliana Cervantes; two sisters, Dora Ramirez of Coleman, and Rachel Johnson of Abilene; and three brothers, Raul Guerrero and wife Leticia of El Paso, Joe Guerrero, Jr. and wife Terry of Brownwood, and Danny Guerrero of Coleman.

The family has requested that if you are feeling ill to please stay home. At the family’s request, those attending the funeral must wear a mask and please maintain social distancing including handshakes and hugs.
