Mike Perry

Michael “Mike” Perry, 51, of Brownwood, passed away August 20, 2021, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Michael was the son of Mike and Debbie Perry of Dallas, and the devoted husband of 30 years to Tracy Laing Perry. Michael was born in Greenville, and spent his childhood in Greenville, Athens, and Brownwood. He was a 1988 graduate of Brownwood High School. He was employed for 27 years at 3M.

Michael was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was fiercely devoted to his wife and daughters and could even be found performing along with the Brownwood Cheerleaders mimicking all the moves with his girls.  He was a loyal friend to many and never met a stranger.  He was a devoted member of the Brownwood Lions Tailgater crew.  

Michael is survived by his parents, wife, daughters Bailey & Madison Perry of Brownwood, one brother, Chris Perry, his wife Amy and nephew, Grant of Sherwood, Arkansas, mother and father-in-law Alexandra and Jesse Laing of Brownwood, sister-in-law Kim Parish, her husband Tarrance and nieces Taylor and Ali and nephew Connor of Abilene, best friends Mike and Kim Strong, and a host of other friends and family.  

Michael was preceded in death by grandparents Howard Pippin, Dorothy Jean Hess and J. Fred and Margaret Perry.  

Michael’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in the chapel of Heartland Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
