Treva Nell Ramey

Treva Nell Ramey, age 85, of Abilene, and formerly of Coleman, died Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Northern Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Abilene.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chas Shira, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

She was born Treva Nell Thompson on September 23, 1935, in Coleman to Joe W. Thompson and Nellie Mae Holland Thompson. Treva grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. She was a nurse aide at Hendrick Medical Center for over 19 years. Treva loved her job and taking care of others. She loved her family and spending quality time with them. Treva was a member of the North Side Baptist Church in Abilene where she sang in the church choir and performed as a soloist. She enjoyed drawing, reading, and writing in her journals.

Treva is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rheafie Lee Thompson; and her grandson, Jason Ramey.

She is survived by her children, Frank Ramey and wife Donna of Abilene, James Ramey and wife Carol of Kaufman, Ricky Ramey and wife Ann of Coleman, and Karen Rhone and husband Johnny of Abilene; eight grandchildren, Frank, Jr., Amanda, Kathryn, Jeremy, Justin, Jake, Stacie, and Johnnie, Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Treva to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford Street, Abilene, Texas 79605.
