Joey Wesley Egger, age 52, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday morning, August 11, 2021 at his home in the care of his brother and sisters.

He was born November 14, 1968 in Victoria, Texas the son of Wester Wesley and Evelyn Faye (Steele) Egger. He had lived in Brownwood most of his life and had worked as a tree trimmer for Hortons Tree Service and Baldwins Tree Service. He was known for his ability to climb trees and was often referred to as a monkey. He loved fishing, family and friends and especially loved babies and puppies. His partner and best friend was his beloved dog, “Buddy”. He enjoyed Thanksgiving with family and was remembered as always willing to help others.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Killingsworth, two sisters, Judy Robertson and husband Lynn of Brownwood, Jean Mewis and husband Harold of Zephyr, his brother, Jerry Egger and wife Melissa of Brownwood, two step-sisters, Catherine and Gail of Illinois, several step-children and four grandchildren, Layla Lynn Killingsworth, Trinity Ann Killingsworth, Paisley Rose Killingsworth, and Juliet Elizabeth Dickerson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Geraldine Egger.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, August 16, at the Davis-Morris Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Brownwood with visitation held on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Ebony Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home, Davis-Morris Chapel, Brownwood.
