Brown County Sheriff’s Report – Aug. 9

  • On Wednesday, August 4, Deputy Andre Smoot responding to Hi Way Auto and a Criminal Trespass Warning was issued to an ex-employee.
  • On Wednesday, August 4, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to a wellhouse being shot and damaging with a pressure tank inside. Pertinent information was gathered, and a report was completed for further investigation.
  • On Wednesday, August 4, deputies were notified of a domestic disturbance that was coming into Brown County from Mills County. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was arrested for Assault Family Violence. A report has been made.
  • On Thursday, August 5, Deputy Mason Fabbiani was dispatched to an address on 183 North. This was in regards to a firearm being stolen out of a house, along with some change. Evidence has been collected and a report has been made.
  • On Thursday, August 5, Deputy Andre Smoot was patrolling and discovered a mailbox, which had been run over. Also, an area where a vehicle possible lost control into a culvert. Photographs were gathered and a report was completed for Duty on Striking fixture.
  • On Thursday, August 5, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to a walk in at the Law Enforcement Center. Information was gathered from the complainant, and a report was completed for Injury to Elderly.
  • On Thursday, August 5 at approximately 11:57 p.m. Deputy Nicolas A. Wood was notified of a domestic disturbance that had occurred at CR 606. An investigation was conducted.
  • On Friday, August 6, Lt. Pete Bastardo was dispatched to CR 211. This was in regards to damaged property.  A report was taken in which an individual alleged Brookesmith Water damaged his property.
  • On Friday, August 6 at about 10:19 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley, spoke to a complainant who stated he was with the Tamarack Mt. HOA. He advised a suspect had damaged the roadway from the entrance of Tamarack Mt. on Brook Valley Dr. to an address located at Brook Valley Dr.
  • On Friday, August 6, 2021, at approximately 2:40 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to the 8200 block of CR 121 . This was in reference to a UTV accident with injuries. 
  •  On Saturday, August 7, at approximately 8:41 a.m., units were dispatched to the 7000 block of Tipperary Dr. . This was in reference to a “passed out” subject inside a car with a weapon in his lap. 
  • On Saturday, August 7, at about 4:22 p.m. Deputy Byron Langley arrived in the 5000 block of US HWY 183 S in Early, TX. This was in regards to a reckless driver. Langley observed a Black Chevrolet pickup parked on the side of the highway matching the description of the vehicle. Langley made contact with a suspect and observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying Weapon.
  • On Monday, August 9, Deputy Chris Angel, was dispatched to The Brown County Jail. This was in reference to an inmate having suspected methamphetamines mixed in a cup of water on her person.  Angel field tested the suspected methamphetamines and it tested positive for methamphetamines.
