Good Samaritan Ministries’ Abundant Living Simple Giving event will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 at the GSM Food Warehouse located at 305 Clark Street.

“We’d like to challenge 100 men from the Brown County area to give $100 each and this money will go to purchase food items for our Christmas boxes that will be distributed in December,” said GSM Volunteer Coordinator Stacy Walker. “If you step to that challenge we’re going to reward you with a hearty breakfast.”

Despite the event being touted as a “men’s breakfast,” women are certainly welcome to attend and contribute.

“We have many ladies that like to come in and contribute to that as well in memory of or in honor of men in their lives,” Walker said. “That gives an opportunity for the ladies to come in and join us for breakfast as well.”

This is the fourth year of the event, and GSM is still seeking its first year of 100 people donating $100.

“Every year we’ve been able to reach our monetary goal, but not once yet have we reached the goal of 100 men giving 100 dollars each,” Walker said. :”We’d really like to have that happen, we feel like that’s a workable and doable challenge for 100 men in Brown County. That really is the challenge for this year, to see if we can get 100 men to do that.”
