Daughter, sister, aunt, wife, nana and beloved mother, Dorothy Jean Knotts (nee McLeod), went to her heavenly reward peacefully Monday night April 26, 2021.

Dorothy was raised in Florida till 1976, lived in Brady for forty years and Kingsville for six years. She married M.C. Knotts Sr. on January 26, 1976 in Crestview, Florida.

Two simple truths best described her: she never met a four-legged creature she couldn’t turn into a house pet, and she never met a two-legged critter she didn’t have a soft heart for. She had three hobbies that reflected her diverse passions in this life: gardening, bird watching, and watching professional wrestling.

She lived a life that wasn’t easy, but she never complained. Her kids and husband always had full tummies, clean clothes, and a clean house. She personified the Beatitudes; always thinking that she needed to share her blessings, meager as they sometimes were.

Dorothy is preceded in death by husband, Jiggs, her parents, two brothers and a sister, and a son Clint.

Dorothy leaves three children, Allen and his wife Jill, Jeffrey, and Jennifer, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her devoted companion Precious who are all honored to have known and loved her.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 12, 2021, at Bible Baptist Church in the basement 605 S. Elm Street, with Rick Brann, officiating.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Brady Lake Pavilion at 2:00 PM.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady.
