The Brookesmith Special Utility District issued the following statement Sunday afternoon regarding the power outage affecting Bangs.
“Brookesmith SUD is experiencing a power outage at our Sherwood tower located near Bangs. This was caused by a large bull snake that got into the power grid and shut things down. The electric company has informed us that the power should be back up by 12 to 2 pm today. We will then begin pumping water again. Please be patient as we have no control over this water outage until the power is restored. Thank you and have a safe 4th of July.”
