Marcus Elworth French

Marcus Elworth French, age 87, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 28, 2021. Services for Marcus will be Friday, July 2, 2021, at 1 pm at Comanche Funeral Home, 411 W. Grand Avenue Comanche, Texas. Family and friends will gather from 11 am until service time the day of the service on Friday. Burial will be at the Pendergrass Cemetery in Sidney.

Marcus was born November 30, 1933, in Mullin, Texas to George Williamson and Alverda Green French. He was a high school graduate and served in the US Army Reserves. He married Miss Evva Bell Chapman in Comanche on August 2, 1952, and they made their home in the Ft. Worth area. Marcus spent 51 years working as an Aviation Parts Salesman for Aviall in Ft. Worth

Marcus was an avid fisherman, always looking for the “big one”. He was also a huge sports fan, especially baseball and football.

He was preceded in death by his sweet wife, Evva Bell, in 1992, four brothers; Forrest, Gene, Clois and Joe French. Marcus is survived by his two daughters; Rose Ann Jones and husband, David, of Ft. Worth and Derenda Fisher of Grapevine, four grandchildren; Danna Hart, Keith Fisher, Patrick Fisher and Kimberly Williams, great-grandchildren; Emily Hart, Rhiley Hart and Austin Williams, and many nieces and nephews.

The family requests donations be made in Marcus’ name with the American Cancer Society, c/o Betty Rackley, 500 Hwy 590. Comanche, Texas 76442. Condolences may be left at www.comanchefh.com.
