Travis Armstrong

Clarence Travis Armstrong, 43, of Brownwood, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 1, 2021 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

Travis was born November 4, 1977 in Brownwood to John Wesley and Cindy Armstrong. He attended Hamilton School and married Melody Lynn and united two families that blessed them with 6 children. Travis was a heavy equipment operator for Ingram Concrete and Vulcan materials in Brownwood. Travis was a generous, loving man who could be onery and come back at you with witty comments. He enjoyed hanging out with friends, fishing and riding motorcycles. He always had a respect for his elders, he painted his grandmother’s whole house blue for a pack of cigarettes when he was young and could often be found mowing someone’s lawn just to help them out. Travis enjoyed working on lawns after he got sick and he love to collect the pecans once they had fallen from the trees. Travis’s passion in life was the love of his family, he was the baby brother, husband, father and grandfather, so he was spoiled and blessed.

Travis is survived by his beloved wife, Melody Armstrong of Brownwood; daughters, Jasmin Armstrong and husband, John of Breckinridge, Makayla Lynn of Brownwood, Mariah Gonzalez of Abilene, Makayla Taylor of Princeton; sons, Travis Armstrong of Breckinridge and Seth Soliz of Brownwood; mother, Cindy Pickens of Brownwood; brothers, JJ Armstrong and wife, Alicia of Brownwood, Chris Payne and wife, Jessica of Proctor, Marvin Payne of Comanche; 6 grandchildren, Tayte, Mahli, Nova, Messiah, A’ellarose and Rowen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Travis was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Armstrong; step father, Hilton Pickens; grandmothers, Bettie Bertie Beaty and Willadine Locke; grandfathers, Clarence Armstrong and Monroe Locke; father-in-law, Jesse Seiler.
