blood drive

Doc’s Drug, Walmart, Brookshire’s and Vitalant invite all who live in Brownwood and the surrounding communities to help avert a severe blood shortage in our community. Vitalant has issued a Critical Blood Shortage Alert – all blood types needed – especially O Positive and O Negative.

This is a nationwide blood shortage. This means that if there were a serious trauma event with patients requiring large amounts of blood to stay alive, the blood simply would not be available.

Blood donors only need to be at least 16 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be healthy. 16 – 22 year old donors will need to meet additional height and weight requirements. 16 year old donors must present a minor donor permit signed by a parent or guardian – go to www.vitalant.org to find the form.

Upcoming Blood Drives:

  • Doc’s Drug in Early

Fri, June 25 1130am – 4pm

  • Walmart

Tue, July 6th and Thur, July 8th 10am – 3pm each day

  • Brookshire’s

Sat, July 10th 10am – 3pm

Appointments Encouraged — Walkins Welcome

Call 877-258-4825

Appointments can also be made by downloading the Vitalant APP Or going to donors.vitalant.org
