Bill McClain, age 66, of Coleman and formerly of Midland, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

The family will host a visitation at 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Born William Earl McClain on August 31, 1954, in Dallas to Rev. Eugene McClain and Estelle Barnes McClain, Bill grew up in many different places with his father being an Assembly of God minister. Graduating high school in Coffeyville, Kansas, Bill excelled in all sports, especially baseball. He married Cynthia Lewis on September 8, 1979, in Hobbs, New Mexico. After working for El Paso Natural Gas, Bill began his real estate career in 1987 with Mike Lewis and Associates. He went on to start LMB Real Estate Group in 2002 with offices in Midland and Abilene. He loved his job and made many lifelong friends that he considered family throughout his career. Bill and Cyndi lived in Midland for more than 30 years until moving to Coleman in 2014.

Bill loved the community of Coleman and made many friends. He loved the atmosphere of the small town and the people that made it special. Bill never met a stranger and was always willing to help someone in need. He loved fishing, camping, spending time with his family and taking vacations in his motorhome. Bill loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending all their activities. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His love, legacy and kindness will never be forgotten.

Preceding Bill in death are his parents, Eugene and Estelle McClain, and his brother, Gary McClain.

He is survived by his wife, Cyndi McClain of Coleman; his children, Brandon McClain and wife Stephanie of Midland and Brooke Townsend and her companion Chad Barnhart of Midland; his grandchildren, Landon Richardson, Hunter Richardson, Landree Townsend, Cayden McClain, Corbyn Thompson, Addison Carr and Keagan Gladish; and his brother, Rev. Marcus McClain and wife Sharon of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Bill’s Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Bill to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or to the Coleman County Youth Activity Center, P.O. Box 766, Coleman, Texas 76834.

Remembrances, condolences, and messages of comfort can be expressed to the family at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.

Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the McClain family.
