The family will host a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with his son, David Jenkins, worship leader at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton, officiating and Mark Strebeck, assisting. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

He was born Wayne Bennett Jenkins on September 9, 1935, in Coleman to Floyd Jenkins and Ovie Kelly Jenkins. He grew up in Coleman where he graduated from Coleman High School. He enjoyed farming, plowing on the tractor, and spending time with his family and friends. Wayne was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Coleman. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Wayne will be missed, but we know that he is at peace as he stands in the presence of Jesus.
